Detailed explanation of the structure of DID splicing LCD panel

Author:admin / Publication time:2020-07-03
How important is a LCD panel for a LCD display? Moreover, important technological advancements in LCD displays, such as LED backlighting and ultra wide viewing angles, are directly related to the panel. The LCD panel, which accounts for 80% of the cost of a LCD display, is enough to indicate that it is the central part of the entire display. Its quality can be said to directly determine whether a LCD display has excellent quality.

From this perspective, the production of civilian LCD displays is just an assembly process, where the LCD panel, main control circuit, casing, and other parts are mainly assembled without any overly complex technical issues. Is this to say that LCD displays are actually products with poor technical content? In fact, the production and manufacturing process of LCD panels is very complicated, requiring at least 300 process steps, and the entire process needs to be carried out in a dust-free environment and precise technical processes.

The overall structure of the LCD panel is not very complex, and the author divides it into two parts: the LCD panel and the backlight system. The backlight system includes a backlight board, backlight (CCFL or LED), diffusers (used to evenly distribute light), diffusers, and so on. Due to the fact that liquid crystals do not emit light, other light sources are needed to illuminate them. The function of the backlight system lies in this. However, currently used CCFL lamps or LED backlights do not have the characteristics of surface light sources. Therefore, components such as light guides and diffusers are needed to make the light from linear or point light sources uniform throughout the entire surface. The purpose is to make the luminous intensity of different points on the entire surface of the liquid crystal panel the same. However, achieving the ideal state is very difficult in reality, and the only way is to minimize the unevenness of brightness, which poses a great challenge to the design and workmanship of the backlight system.
